Teacher-Education Programmes

EdUHK is one of the teacher education providers in Hong Kong. Graduates of the University’s teacher education programmes are eligible to apply to become fully qualified Registered Teachers. For registration as a teacher, graduates should approach the Teacher Registration Team of the Education Bureau (EDB) to submit applications directly. All applications will be independently assessed by the EDB which will consider, among other things, whether an applicant has been convicted of any criminal offence (including sex-related offence) in Hong Kong or elsewhere, or is involved in any ongoing criminal proceedings or investigations. Remarks

• Senior year admissions are mainly for final year students / graduates with local Associate Degree or Higher Diploma qualifications.
• Eligible non-local students with local sub-degree qualifications will also be considered for Senior Year Admissions on a competitive basis. Non-local applicants will be admitted outside the overall quota for local applicants. Therefore, the recruitment of non-local students will have no negative impact on local students.
• Non-local applicants who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree programme at a recognised non-local university will be considered for Senior Year Admissions on an individual basis.

Notes on Specific Programmes 

1. Students should have possessed a good command of Chinese (including Cantonese / Putonghua).
2. Most of the Major courses will be taught in Cantonese (supplemented by English and Putonghua).
3. Applicants should possess a certain level of skills in different sports, including athletics, ball games, gymnastics, swimming, racket games and dance, etc.
4. The medium of instruction is English, supplemented by Cantonese and Putonghua as appropriate.
