Field Experience

Field experience (FE) is a core domain in both the pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) which aims to support students to develop the graduate attributes of the University, i.e., Professional Excellence, Ethical Responsibilities and Innovation (PEER &I), and to nurture them to be outstanding and caring educators and professionals who contribute constructively to sustainable social and economic development in Hong Kong and beyond. Career Prospects/Professional Recognition

This specially designed Double-Degree Programme will offer our students ample opportunities not only to equip themselves with the pedagogical skills essential to effective teaching, but also to enhance their professional skills which are applicable to academic and other professional contexts. Graduates are expected to be eligible to apply to be Registered Teachers (RT) in Hong Kong and could teach Geography in secondary schools with the subject knowledge and pedagogical experiences provided. Meanwhile, the sociological training of the Programme also enables graduates to pursue diverse career options in the government sector, non-government organisations and commercial firms, and especially those with a community focus.

What Our Student Says

The University has provided me with various engaging opportunities to enhance my pedagogical skills and geographical knowledge. During the two Block Practices, I had the precious opportunities to interact with my peers and received useful advice and support to enhance my teaching style. The University has offered me an important opportunity to conduct academic research in the form of Honours Project. I am glad to have the holistic support of the University and hope to make use of the knowledge and skills developed in my university life to contribute the robust growth of geographical education.
