The University offers a wide range of entrance scholarships to attract aspiring, high-quality students with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements to join our undergraduate programmes and to encourage and support them to develop their talents to their full potential. Set up by funding from the University and donations from various organisations and civic-minded individuals, these scholarships are granted on the basis of academic merit, personal qualities and contribution to the community, amongst other factors.

University-level Entrance Scholarships

EdUHK Entrance Scholarship for Local Students

(for full-time Government funded undergraduates)
Full Scholarship: $100,000 p.a. (renewable)

for JUPAS entrants with the highest unweighted admission score who fulfil the requirements of the Tuition Scholarship.
Tuition Scholarship: $44,500 p.a. (renewable)

for JUPAS entrants with the unweighted admission score of 24 or above in any best 5 HKDSE subjects, and at least a level 4 plus a level 5 in Chinese Language and English Language.
EdUHK Entrance Scholarship for Non-Chinese Speaking Local Students

(for full-time Government funded undergraduates)
Half-tuition Scholarship: $22,250 p.a. (renewable)

for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students admitted through JUPAS with the unweighted admission score of 20 or above in any best 5 HKDSE subjects. Please refer to the EDB website for the definition of NCS students.
EdUHK Entrance Scholarship for Local Students of Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education

(for full-time Government funded higher diploma students)
$15,900 p.a. (renewable)

for JUPAS entrants who choose HD(ECE) as their final Band A choice with the unweighted admission score of 20 points or above in any best 5 HKDSE subjects and attain level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language. Students with the same academic ability will be considered on the basis of their performance at admission interview.
HKDSE ‘Star’ Scholarship Scheme New $5,000 (one-off) per each ‘Star’

for JUPAS entrants who obtain 5*/5** in HKDSE in the current year. Level 5** will be counted as 2 stars and level 5* will be counted as 1 star.
EdUHK Programme Entrance Scholarship New Undergraduate programmes:
$20,000 (one-off)


for JUPAS entrants with the unweighted admission score of 21 or above in any best 5 HKDSE subjects and achieve the highest admission score in each of the following programmes:
  • BSocSc in Sociology and Community Studies and BEd (Primary Humanities)
  • BA in Personal Finance
  • BA in Digital Chinese Culture and Communication
  • BA in English Studies and Digital Communication
  • BSc in Speech Pathology and Rehabilitation
  • BSocSc in Psychology and BEd (Early Childhood Education)
Higher Diploma programme:
$10,000 (one-off)


for JUPAS entrants of Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education programme with the admission score of 18 or above in any best 5 HKDSE subjects and achieve the highest admission score.
EdUHK Entrance Scholarship for Senior Year Entry Local Students

EdUHK Full Tuition Scholarship for Elite Athletes New $44,500 (one-off)

for elite-athlete students admitted to the Government funded full-time undergraduate programmes through EdUHK Nomination Scheme for Elite Athletes (NSEA) or Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme.

Note: The awardees of the above entrance scholarships must meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements.

Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Entrance Scholarship $20,000 (one-off)

for JUPAS entrants of full-time Government funded undergraduate programmes.
