What Our Student Says

1

Looking back, the BEd(BAFS) programme has provided me with strong theoretical training and highly useful teaching pedagogies. A defining highlight was my field experience in secondary schools, where I received invaluable guidance, constructive feedback, and practical recommendations from experienced lecturers and former BAFS teachers. Their mentorship significantly honed my instructional skills, expanded my professional network and deeply reinforced my passion for the teaching profession. This hands-on exposure has fully prepared me to step into the classroom with confidence upon graduation. I am incredibly grateful for this valuable experience, which has equipped me with both the subject expertise and the commitment needed to thrive as an educator and positively impact future learners.

2

Studying the BEd(BAFS) programme at EdUHK has given me a unique opportunity to bridge theory and practice. Through the programme, I gained solid knowledge in accounting, management, and financial literacy, while developing the professional skills and capabilities needed for effective teaching. During my block practice in secondary schools, I had the chance to teach both the Accounting and Business Management strands of BAFS. By working closely with students, I came to understand their learning needs more deeply, which brought me great satisfaction in supporting their growth. Beyond classroom teaching, I also contributed to lesson preparation, assessment design, and the planning of a variety of learning activities, which strengthened my confidence and professional competence. The programme’s strong emphasis on experiential learning, reflective practice, and continuous professional development, along with the support and guidance of dedicated lecturers and mentors, has helped me grow both academically and personally.
