Programme Introduction

This programme features an innovative creative digital emphasis for music and the visual arts within subject-focused and major-elective courses. It extends the depth and reach of our existing provision within the new targeted art tech, entertainment and multi-media sectors, while also retaining the Internship as one of the unique and highly popular components. The programme will equip students with the theoretical, practical and contextual knowledge and skills that are applicable within the cultural and creative industries, the cultural and educational sectors, and in the broader commercial sectors of the region. It will also equip students with knowledge in arts administration and management, providing them with opportunities to gain hands-on experience through internships.

(1) Classes will be held in Tai Po Campus and Tseung Kwan O Study Centre / North Point Study Centre / Sports Centre / Kowloon Tong Satellite Study Centre as decided by the University.
(2) Students admitted into this programme are required to visit the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and/or other parts of Mainland China. Programme may also require students to participate in other non-local learning experience for completion of the programme. While the visits are heavily subsidised, students are still required to contribute part of the estimated cost of the visits ("student contribution"), whereas personal entertainment, meals expenses, travel document fee and personal insurance costs will not be supported. The estimated cost of the visits for students admitted to the 2025/26 cohort is not available yet as it is subject to a variety of factors such as changes to the cost of the visits as a result of inflation, trip duration, traveling expenses, the exchange rate, etc. The exact amount of student contribution is thus not available.

Internship / Regional Summer Institute

The programme has successfully forged collaborations and connections with many different local arts and culture organisations, NGOs, and government departments within the GBA as a means of providing our students with a broad variety of placements. The Regional Summer Institute provides a valuable learning opportunity for students to participate in a two-week field experience programme to enhance their regional/international exchange experience and broaden their horizons. The Regional Summer Institute will be conducted in a variety of places and will cover a wide range of topics through lectures, seminars, field trips, visits to local NGOs, cultural and arts institutions, etc.

Career Prospects / Professional Recognition

The knowledge and skills developed by graduates of BA(CDA) will enhance their entry into digital and creative industries, the commercial and education sector, the government and non-governmental organisations. Graduates may also choose to pursue a teaching career by completing an additional year of professional teacher training or to undertake further studies locally or overseas.
