Individual Audition and Interview

1. Individual Audition:
   Do a live performance during the interview. Perform two pieces of contrasting styles in singing OR on any recognized music instrument. If the chosen repertoires include accompaniment, candidates are strongly advised to arrange their own accompanist in order to best present the repertoires. 


2. Interview:
   Candidates are expected to discuss their experiences and career aspirations as potential music undergraduate students. The selection panel may also ask questions concerning the theory and music knowledge of Western art music and/or Chinese music. Qualifications, awards and achievements in other creative arts such as dance, visual arts etc. may be considered as advantage for BA(CAC) candidates.

• submit the completed Applicant Particular Form.

1. Candidates are required to complete the Online Questionnaire and upload the respective supporting documents for qualifications/awards stated in the Online Questionnaire.
2. Selected candidates can refer to the interview notification for the detailed arrangement.

The interview consists of the following two parts:

Part 1: Individual Interview (Personal Aspirations, Individual Presentation and Portfolio Presentation)

Individual interview is to assess a candidate's basic understanding and involvement in Visual Arts subject. Before the interview, candidates should have already uploaded photo/digital files of their artworks on a specific date. During the interview and for Portfolio Presentation, candidates are expected to display and share no more than 3 individual artworks personally, regardless of creative medium.

Part 2: Practical Test

This part is ONLY for those candidates without Level 4 or above in Visual Arts in the HKDSE.

The Practical Test examines a candidate's ability in creating artwork and the capability of visualizing expression and communication through medium. The day before the test, candidates should prepare their own art supplies (i.e., A2 drawing paper, pencils, erasers, brushes, paints, glue, water containers) and other visual materials for reference (i.e., magazines, books, IG posts). Candidates will receive more details of the Practical Test by email.

• read the email notification thoroughly for important details; and
• present the result slip of HKDSE or certificate of relevant Applied Learning Courses (if any) for the interviewer's checking of arts examination performance.
