Background

The School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS) is introduced by the Education Bureau (EDB) with the aim of providing university education opportunities for talented S6 students who are assessed as suitable for their own preferred programmes based on broad parameters other than HKDSE examination results.

Features

  1. SNDAS is to be implemented in parallel with the JUPAS applications. Nominees will submit their applications to JUPAS system at the start of the school year like mainstream students while school principals submit their SNDAS nominations via direct application to the University;
  2. Nominees will be invited to attend the EdUHK interview and/or test in February/March 2025;
  3. Successful nominees who have excellent performance in the interview and/or test will be given a firm offer in late-June 2025 for admission to the chosen programme. The offer, once accepted, is binding on both the student and the University irrespective of the HKDSE examination results and the JUPAS application of the nominees will be cancelled;
  4. Unsuccessful nominees who do not receive/accept the firm offer will remain in the JUPAS route and be considered under the normal procedures after the release of HKDSE examination results in July 2025.

Eligibility

  1. Each secondary school has a quota of TWO nominations. Each nominee can apply for admission to only ONE designated programme.
  2. Nominees must be local students pursuing the local secondary curriculum and taking the 2025 HKDSE Examination.
  3. Nominees must apply for admission to universities through JUPAS.

Note: Students who are nominated under SNDAS will NOT be eligible for nomination of the JUPAS School Principal's Nominations (SPN) Scheme or the respective direct admission schemes for prospective student-athletes established by the eight University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded universities under the UGC’s Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission Scheme (details provided at: https://www.ugc.edu.hk/eng/ugc/activity/salsa_scheme.html).
