Background

The EdUHK Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme is designed for JUPAS applicants with exceptional potential and outstanding talent in music, sports, STEAM or visual arts. Applicants can submit their self-nominations for admission to the related JUPAS programmes of the University.

Nominees who are shortlisted by the respective subject departments will be invited to attend the interview(s) and/or test(s) in February or June. Candidates with excellent performance in the interview(s) and/or test(s) will be given higher priority of admission.

Nomination Methods (2026 Entry)

Nomination Period

The self-nomination period for the 2026 entry will be from 9 October - 31 December 2025.

Points to Note:

  • Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend the admission interviews and/or test(s) in February or June 2026. Please click here to learn more about the interview schedules. If an nominee has not been invited to the interview(s) in the above-mentioned period, his/her JUPAS application will still be considered under normal selection process.
  • However, if the selected nominees do not attend the interview(s) in February or June (which are specially arranged for nominees of the scheme), but attend the interview(s) after the release of HKDSE examination results in July, they will no longer enjoy the privilege of admission priority given by the Self-Nomination Admissions Scheme.

Nomination Criteria and Application Form

JUPAS applicants can submit their self-nominations via the online form and provide the supporting document before the nomination deadline. To be eligible for admission interviews, nominees should fulfil the following criteria:

JUPAS Programme Choice

Nomination Criteria 

  1. Put the JS8001 and/or JS8685 programme(s) as the Band A choice(s) in JUPAS application;
  2. Obtain high performance standard in music with relevant qualifications, experiences and achievements;
  3. Recommended by relevant associations/ organisations/ schools (optional but preferable).

(Qualifications, awards and achievements in other creative arts such as dance, visual arts etc. will be considered as an advantage for BA(CDA) applicants.)

List of Supporting Document 

Nominee should prepare and upload ALL relevant supporting documents in ONE PDF file (maximum of 15MB) including:
  1. Proof(s) of the relevant qualifications, experiences and achievements in music;
  2. A personal statement (at least 300 – 500  words);
  3. Recommendation letter(s) from relevant associations / organisations / schools (optional but preferable).

Nomination Criteria for BSc(SPSC)&BEd(PE) (JS8010)

  1. Put the JS8010 programme as the Band A choice in JUPAS application; and
  2. Demonstrate a high performance standard in sports, for example:
    • Elite Athlete in the Hong Kong Sports Institute
    • Current Hong Kong National Squad Member
    • Former Hong Kong National Squad Member
    • Current Hong Kong Junior Squad Member
    • Outstanding Student Athlete in the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation
    • Outstanding Student Athlete in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong
    AND
  3. Recommended by Hong Kong Sports Institute, Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, National Sports Associations, other recognised Sports or Technology Associations, or Schools.

List of Supporting Document for BSc(SPSC)&BEd(PE) (JS8010)

Nominee should prepare and upload ALL relevant supporting documents in ONE PDF file (maximum of 15MB) including:

  1. Proof(s) of the achievements in sports; and
  2. A personal statement (at least 300 – 500  words); and
  3. Recommendation letter(s) from Hong Kong Sports Institute / Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China / National Sports Associations / other recognised Sports Associations / Schools (Note: Proof of Membership is NOT equivalent to recommendation letter).

 

Nomination Criteria for BSc(SPSC) (JS8726)

  1. Put the JS8726 programme as the Band A choice in JUPAS application; and
  2. Demonstrate a high performance standard in sports, for example:
    • Elite Athlete in the Hong Kong Sports Institute
    • Current Hong Kong National Squad Member
    • Former Hong Kong National Squad Member
    • Current Hong Kong Junior Squad Member
    • Outstanding Student Athlete in the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation
    • Outstanding Student Athlete in the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong
    OR
  3. Demonstrate a high performance standard in information and communications technology; and
  4. Recommended by Hong Kong Sports Institute, Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, National Sports Associations, other recognised Sports or Technology Associations, or Schools.

Sports Scholarship for BSc(SPSC)&BEd(PE) (JS8010) / BSc(SPSC) (JS8726)

  1. Annual scholarship of HK$10,000 to HK$44,500 for a maximum tenure of 5 years will be awarded to selected students of BSc(SPSC)&BEd(PE) (JS8010) or BSc(SPSC) (JS8726) upon recommendation by the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Department of the University and the interview panel from Wofoo Group (the Donor).
  2. Hostel accommodation fee will be waived in year 1, subject to availability of hostel place and recommendation by the HPE Department and the Donor.
  3. The renewal of scholarships and/or hostel accommodation fee waiver^ are subject to the conditions given below.

Sports Scholarships Renewal Conditions
- Achieve a Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher throughout their studies at the EdUHK;
- Good performance in sports events organised by the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong (USFHK);
- Good progress in sports training; and
- Contributions to sports development on campus and beyond as an ambassador.
- Recipients may concurrently receive other scholarships or subsidies. The total amount of scholarships/subsidies awarded for each recipient should not exceed the annual programme tuition fee of the year in accordance with the University’s policy.

^Note: To be eligible for hostel accommodation fee waiver in year 2 and thereafter, scholarship recipients are required to fulfill the Sports Scholarships renewal conditions and successfully get a hostel place in the respective year. 

JUPAS Programme Choice

Nomination Criteria 

  1. Put the JS8008 / JS8009 / JS8011* / JS8702 / JS8714 programme(s) as Band A choice(s) in JUPAS application;
  2. Obtain a high performance standard in respective STEAM areas with relevant achievements;
  3. Recommended by relevant associations/ organisations/ schools (optional but preferable).

*For BSc(IEM)&BEd(SCI), Biology and Chemistry major will be offered in 2026/27.

List of Supporting Document

Nominee should prepare and upload ALL relevant supporting documents in ONE PDF file (maximum of 15MB) including:

  1. Proof(s) of the achievements related to STEAM areas; and
  2. A personal statement (at least 500 words); and
  3. Recommendation letter(s) from relevant associations/ organisations/ schools (optional but preferable).

Probity Requirements
Other than the application fee, applicants are not required to pay any additional fees during the application process. Please be reminded not to offer any advantage to any EdUHK staff, officer, employee, and/or any person involved in the admission process at EdUHK in connection with any application. Otherwise, you may commit serious criminal offences under Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (Cap. 201 of the laws of Hong Kong), which is punishable by imprisonment.

Making, submitting or using any false instrument (including forged documents) are serious criminal offences under the Crimes Ordinance (Cap. 200 of the laws of Hong Kong). A person committing the offences relating to forgery or false instruments is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment. The University shall consider the relevant evidence and report suspicious cases to the Hong Kong Police. The University reserves the right to take appropriate legal actions against persons who make, forge or use a false instrument for admission and any other academic purposes before, during and after the admission process.
