Programmes with Senior Year Admissions
The University has reserved a number of places for senior year admissions. Quality students holding recognized post-secondary qualifications or attending final year of a recognized sub-degree programme such as AD/HD or equivalent will be considered for senior year admissions with a view to minimizing duplication of learning and promoting credit accumulation and transfer. The following programmes offer senior year admissions in 2022/23 entry:
Please visit the individual programme website for details. Those admitted via senior year admission route are expected to complete the programmes within 2 academic years. They are no longer entitled to apply for credit transfer of individual courses based on their entrance qualifications (i.e. no double benefit). To achieve the best learning outcomes, students admitted via senior year admission route may be required to study additional courses to meet the curriculum requirements. Necessary support will be given to ensure that they can cope with the additional workload during their studies.
General Entrance Requirements
Applicants who have possessed Associate Degree or Higher Diploma qualification awarded by recognised institutions with a good GPA or who are attending final year of a recognised Associate Degree / Higher Diploma programme or equivalent^ (subject to successful completion of the programme by August with a good GPA) are welcome to apply. Among the key factors where the University will consider admission of an applicant to senior year admissions, include equivalence of the subject discipline of the AD/HD to that of our bachelor’s degree programme and the academic performance of the applicant. However, those without relevant academic background will also be considered on an individual basis.
^ Normally, qualification which is of Level 4 or above under Qualifications Register (QR) of Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).
Applicants who are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree programme at a recognised local* or non-local# university will be considered on an individual basis.
* The following institutions (and the EdUHK) are UGC-funded institutions: City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong. However, inter-institutional transfers are not normally allowed except under exceptional circumstances.
# Applicants holding non-local post-secondary qualification may be required to provide a "Report for Qualifications Assessment" issued by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to support their applications.
Language Requirements
In addition to the foregoing general entrance requirements, applicants should also demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency in both the Chinese and English languages, unless exempted by the University.

* Applicants seeking admission to programmes with English as the medium of instruction will be exempted from this Chinese Language requirement on a case-by-case basis. For programmes which require students to have possessed a good command of Chinese, waiver of Chinese Language requirement will not be granted.
Admission Interview(s) / Test(s)
Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an admission interview(s)/test(s) and they will receive relevant details by email and/or SMS. Applicant who has not been invited to an interview/test shall not assume that he/she is not being considered for admission.
How to Apply
Applicants should apply through our Online Application System. To facilitate preliminary assessment, please upload all relevant academic qualifications (including updated transcript, language exam reports, etc.) to the application system once available.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis which means the sooner you apply, the sooner your application will be assessed. Priority will be given to applications received by the main round application deadline. You are strongly advised to submit your application as early as possible.
Application fee for local applicants is HK$150 per programme. The fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the programme in question is cancelled by the University. You can pay the fee via online payment by using either VISA/Master credit card or UnionPay. If you are not able to pay online, you may refer to the "Other Payment Methods" for alternative payment methods.
