Programme Aims
In this complex and dynamic world, early childhood leaders need to equip themselves to face rapidly changing society and fulfill increasing expectations from stakeholders. This programme aims at equipping personnel who takes up leadership roles with the skills needed to address new challenges in the 21st century for school improvement and team innovation. This programme also contributes to the development of innovative leadership at different levels for the field of early childhood education in the future.
On completion of the programme, participants should be able to:
- Understand the theoretical knowledge of transformational leadership, innovative leadership and integrative leadership.
- Review the key innovative approaches for school improvement.
- Analyse the effective leadership strategies for change management, crisis management, team management and information technology management
Programme Structure
The programme consists of one 3-credit-point course with a total of 39 hours.
This course will focus on:
- Understand the theoretical knowledge of transformational leadership, innovative leadership and integrative leadership.
- Review the key innovative approaches for school improvement.
- Analyse the effective leadership strategies for change management, crisis management, team management and information technology management
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction is mainly Chinese (Cantonese) and will be supplemented by English where appropriate.

Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants should be:
- in-service teachers from all pre-primary settings taking up different levels of leadership posts in schools; and
- recommended by school principals/supervisors.
Award
To be awarded a Certificate of Completion, participants must obtain a pass in all assessment tasks required and successfully fulfill the attendance and/or assessment requirements as stipulated by the programme.
Other Information
Participants who complete our PDPs are eligible to apply for credit transfer if they enroll in our postgraduate programmes. Their applications will be considered on an individual basis.
