Programme Aims

Programme Structure

The programme comprises the following core course with 3 credit points:

Home Economics/Technology and Living: A Practical Teaching Guide to Nutrition and Diet

This programme will equip HE/TL trained teachers with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills to promote nutrition and healthy eating in schools. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the latest research in nutritional science, dietary guidelines and updated information on macronutrients and micronutrients, and the principles of a balanced diet through a blend of lectures, interactive workshops, and hands-on activities. Participants will learn to integrate nutrition education into the school curriculum using engaging and interactive teaching methods such as projects, experiments and discussion through the effective meal planning covered by the programme. Special attention is given to addressing diverse dietary needs and creating an inclusive, health-promoting school environment.
