Programme Aims

This programme aims to help participants to: 

  • enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence in school development, administration, and management, and assuming a leadership role in schools; and 
  • deepen their understanding of national and international development and education trends. 

Programme Structure

The programme consists of one non-credit-point course with a total of 18 contact hours, i.e. School Administration and Management

There is no assessment but 100% attendance is required. 

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction is mainly Chinese (Cantonese) and will be supplemented by English where appropriate. 

Programme Duration

Cohort(s) Period of Study
6 The admission of the six cohorts will be conducted by three batches. The first batch (cohort one and two) will be held during Oct to Nov 2024. The second batch (cohort three and four) will be held during Nov 2024 to Mar 2025. The third batch (cohort five and six) will be held during May to Jun 2025. Related course information will be posted onto the Training Calendar System, EDB in due course.

Entrance Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants should be: 

  • serving senior teachers (i.e. Senior Graduate Master/Mistress (SGM), Primary School Master/Mistress (PSM) or Education Officer (EO)) in primary, secondary or special schools; and 
  • priority will be given to those who are currently on acting appointment as or aspiring for promotion to Principal Graduate Master/Mistress (PGM), Senior Primary School Master/Mistress (SPSM) or Senior Education Officer (SEO). 

Applications should be submitted online at the Education Bureau (EDB)'s Training Calendar System (TCS) https://tcs.edb.gov.hk

Award

To be awarded a Certificate, participants must obtain a 100% attendance. No additional assessment task is required. 

Other Information

This 18-hour training programme is one of the enhanced training programmes for promotion recognised by the EDB for teachers aspiring for promotion to PGM/SPSM/SEO. After successful completion of the course, training hours will be recorded under the "Core Part" of the Enhanced Training Requirements for Promotion. Details of the relevant training requirements can be found in the EDB Circular No. 6/2020. 

Remarks: Each school can recommend more than one teacher.
