Programme Aims
Upon successful completion of this programme, participants will be able to:
- understand and explain the key theories and principles of blended learning, including the ethical considerations and responsible use of generative AI (GenAI) tools, and their implications for designing curriculum materials and assessment tasks;
- plan, design, and implement blended learning approaches integrated with GenAI tools to develop curriculum materials and assessment tasks that effectively address diverse student learning needs and promote information literacy;
- critically evaluate the effectiveness and ethical impact of blended learning strategies and GenAI tools in enhancing curriculum delivery and assessment practices, and make informed decisions regarding their sustainable integration in teaching.
Programme Structure
The programme is structured as a five-day intensive professional development course, delivered in a face-to-face mode with blended learning activities, totalling 39 contact hours and equivalent to a three-credit course.
The course will focus on:
- Curriculum integrates theoretical foundations;
- Practical skills;
- Ethical considerations related to blended learning and generative AI (GenAI) tools for curriculum and assessment design.
The approaches and principles taught are designed to be adaptable and applicable across all subject areas in primary and secondary education.
Medium of Instruction
The medium of instruction is English.
Entrance Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants should be:
- in-service teachers in primary, secondary settings; and
- recommended by school principals.
Award
To be awarded a Certificate of Completion, participants must obtain a pass in all assessment tasks required and successfully fulfill the attendance requirements as stipulated by the programme.
Other Information
This Government-funded programme is supported by the Education Bureau (EDB). Schools which release teachers to take this programme are eligible for appointing supply teachers, if deemed necessary. Government and aided schools shall contact the EDB for detailed arrangements. Private and DSS schools shall make their own arrangements for the employment of supply teachers.
Remarks: Each school can recommend more than one teacher.
