Notes: As the 2022/23 academic year is the beginning of the 2022/23–2024/25 triennium for which the allocation of UGC-funded places is still subject to the Government's approval, the number of intake places shown above is indicative only and subject to changes or confirmation.

The offering of these multidisciplinary programmes, guided by the University’s Education-plus approach promulgated in 2009, is the result of EdUHK’s growing academic capacity in the related disciplines. This has been further affirmed by the University Grants Committee (UGC)’s latest “Research Assessment Exercise 2020”, which rated EdUHK’s submissions in education and emerging areas as “World Leading” or “Internationally Excellent.

Professor John Lee Chi-kin, Vice President (Academic) and Provost, said the new programmes mark a remarkable milestone for EdUHK. “Since its retitling in 2016, EdUHK has made phenomenal progress in learning, teaching, research and knowledge transfer. The new multidisciplinary programmes approved by the UGC attest to our increasing capacity in these emerging areas,” he said. He added that the University has placed greater emphasis on students’ innovation, creativity and technological competency, in line with future societal needs.

Furthermore, a new arrangement will be made for senior-year entrants, who normally have a shorter study period, to take an elective offered on the master’s degree programmes, so they can enrich their learning experience and attain personal goals after graduation. The same arrangement will apply to other undergraduate students. Likewise, students pursuing the Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education may take an elective course on senior-year programmes.
